Equipment Serial Numbers & Locations
The unique serial number on each piece of Bobcat® equipment makes service and asset management easier. It’s important for identifying and sourcing the right parts for your machine. It may also be useful for filing insurance claims, tracking down stolen machines, or finding product recall and warranty information. Bobcat recommends keeping a detailed record of the serial numbers for all the Bobcat® products you own.
The serial number location can vary by type of machine, series, year of manufacture and other factors. Use this guide to help locate your machine’s serial number.
How to Find Bobcat Serial Numbers
- R-Series Loaders (2020-)
- PThe serial number on Bobcat R-Series loaders is found on the right side of the machine’s rear, just above the upper-right tailgate corner.
- M-Series Loaders (2010-)
- The serial number on Bobcat M-Series loaders is found on the right side of the main machine frame, below and to the right of the cooling compartment opening.
- K-Series Loaders (2007-2014)
- The serial number can be found near the back of the loader on either the right or left side of the frame upright depending on whether it is a skid-steer or compact track loader.
- Older Loaders (40, 50, 60, 70 80/C, D, F, G)
- Serial number locations differed by model and series. The most common location was on the inside or outside of the rear upright.
- Small Articulated Loaders
- The serial number on Bobcat small articulated loaders is found on the lower frame of the machine on the entry side.
- Mini Track Loaders
- The serial number on Bobcat mini track loaders is found on the left side of the main frame, near the top end of the lift arm.
- Compact Wheel Loaders
- The serial number on Bobcat compact wheel loaders is found on the left side, visible underneath the lift arm.
- R-Series Excavators (2017-)
- The serial number on Bobcat R-Series excavators is found on the front of the cab to the side of the boom.
- M-Series Excavators (2010-2017)
- The serial number on Bobcat M-Series excavators is found on the front of the cab to the side of the boom near the cab door.
- Large Excavators
- The serial number on Bobcat large excavators is found on the cab’s side, adjacent to the boom and toward the front.
- Sub-Compact & Compact Tractors
- The serial number on Bobcat sub-compact and compact tractors is found on the front right corner of the frame.
- Articulating Tractors
- The serial number on Bobcat articulating tractors is found near the base of the steering wheel.
- Zero-Turn Riding Mowers (Small Frame)
- The serial number on Bobcat small-frame zero-turn riding mowers (models ZT2000-ZT3500), is found underneath the seat.
- Zero-Turn Riding Mowers (Large Frame)
- The serial number on Bobcat large-frame mowers (models ZT5000-ZT7000), is found next to the seat on the operator’s left-hand side.
- Zero-Turn Stand-On Mowers
- The serial number on Bobcat zero-turn stand-on mowers is found next to the operator’s foot platform on the right side.
- Walk-Behind Mowers
- The serial number on Bobcat walk-behind mowers is found on the right side of the mower near the engine.
The serial number on Bobcat utility vehicles is found underneath the frame on the driver’s side.
The serial number on Bobcat telehandlers is found on the machine frame near the right front tire.
The serial number on Toolcat™ utility work machines is found beneath the lift arm.
