WHAT IS THE VETERANS COMMUNITY PROJECT?

Veterans Community Project (VCP) started with a group of combat veterans in Kansas City and a long-term goal to eliminate veteran homelessness across the nation.

Today, VCP houses two flourishing programs: the Veterans Outreach Center and VCP Village.

THE VETERANS OUTREACH CENTER

Located in southeastern Kansas City, the Veteran Outreach Center is VCP’s one-stop
shop to provide veterans with free and necessary services.

Their staff members help veterans navigate VA and benefits, identification services,
mental and physical health referrals, financial counseling, and employment support.
They also provide regular access to hygiene kits and a food pantry.

VCP VILLAGE

VCP Village is a planned tiny home community built by veterans for veterans. This community serves as a transitional step towards permanent housing, providing homeless veterans with privacy, a sense of security, and the ability to reintegrate at a comfortable pace.

Community members also get access to support services like mentoring, case management, and counseling.
